Welcome to the New Mexico Pageant of Bands Web Site. This annual event provides a venue for over 2,000 New Mexico high school students to exhibit their skills and receive feedback from nationally recognized judges and is based on band size, not school size. The New Mexico Pageant of Bands is a nonprofit organization promoting performance excellence and sportsmanship in high school marching band competition. For more information see our About page.
The 38th New Mexico Pageant of Bands Marching Competition will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Wilson Stadium in Albuquerque.
Band Directors – It’s time to register for the 38th POB! Be part of the musical excellence and showmanship of this wonderful competition. To register your band go to our Band Directors page and complete and submit the on-line registration form. You can also download the registration form and mail it in. However, your registration is not complete until we receive payment. Deadline for receiving your registration and entry fee is August 23, 2017. Your Program Sheet is due by September 8, 2017 for inclusion in the POB Program. It can also be entered on-line.
Most POB Merchandise Half-Price on our Online Store – Many items sold at the New Mexico Pageant of Bands competitions are available for on-line ordering. You can use PayPal or just a credit card. Visit the POB Store.

La Cueva High School band student Eliana O’Brien has been selected for the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. She is one of 125 high school marching band members among the millions in the United States to be selected.
Eliana has been drum major in the La Cueva Marching Band for two years. She also plays euphonium in the wind symphony, trombone in the jazz band, and works as a pianist/keyboardist at a local church. She is also an All-State musician and a member of the Albuquerque Youth Symphony.
On Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, O’Brien will perform with the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, earning an all-expenses-paid trip to San Antonio, Texas. The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band performs each year at halftime of the nationallytelevised U.S. Army All-American Bowl for high school players.
