New Mexico Pageant of Bands logoWelcome to the New Mexico Pageant of Bands Web Site. This annual event provides a venue for over 2,000 New Mexico high school students to exhibit their skills and receive feedback from nationally recognized judges and is based on band size, not school size. The 40th New Mexico Pageant of Bands Marching Competition will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Wilson Stadium in Albuquerque. 

Band Directors – Registration for the 40th POB is closed! The New Mexico Pageant of Bands has received the maximum number of registrations for the 2019 Pageant and are no longer accepting new registrations. However, existing registrations are not complete until we receive payment. Deadline for receiving your entry fee is August 14, 2019. Your Program Sheet is due by September 6, 2019 for inclusion in the POB Program booklet. It can also be entered on-line.

40 Years of the POB! In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the New Mexico Pageant of Bands, this year’s competition includes 29 bands from throughout the state of New Mexico and 1 from Texas. New to this year’s competition are Canyon, Texas, Las Cruces Centennial, Las Cruces Mayfield, and Shiprock.To see a list of the 40th Anniversary participating bands, see our 2019 POB Band Entries page. 2019 POB Pins and Patches Now Available in the POB Store – 2019 POB Pins and Patches are now available to order. You can buy yours online at the POB Store.

Band Booster Ad Orders Now Available Online – The POB offers a special rate of $75 to Band Booster Organizations or Band Directors for a full-page ad in the POB Program Booklet for you to promote your band. 2017 POB Program CoverAdvertise in the POB Program – The New Mexico Pageant of Bands Program is available for purchase at the competition for $5. It provides a guide to the competition with information on each band and their group picture from the previous year. It is a very popular keepsake for students, parents and band staff with over 800 distributed each year. Your business may advertise in the POB Program booklet. 2019 POB Awards Underwriting

Would you or your company like to underwrite awards for the 2019 Pageant of Bands Competition? We are looking for companies, organizations, or individuals to underwrite our awards. Supporters who underwrite our awards are recognized in our printed program booklet, on our website nmpob.org, with announcements during the event and complimentary tickets are given based on underwriting level. We welcome participation in our awards ceremony as a benefit of underwriting. Sponsors have the option of presenting the awards they are sponsoring. Outstanding Section Awards are presented to one band in each class for the following categories, Brass, Percussion, Woodwinds, Soloist, Drum Major, Colorguard, and People’s Choice.
