Bill Drotning is currently the Judge Coordinator and Liaison for the New Mexico Pageant of Bands after volunteering many years ago as a parent. In his current role, Bill assembles a panel of judges who bring their various experiences and skills to our competition from all over the country. As Liaison, he handles travel, housing, and transportation arrangements for our judges.
Bill is a retired scientist and technical manager from Sandia National Laboratories, where he specialized in the development of robotic systems for handling hazardous materials. He remains active internationally in the development of guidance and standards for the safe use of robots. Bill has volunteered for many years on the support staff of the Santa Clara Vanguard, a world-class drum and bugle corps based in Santa Clara, CA.
